6-University Human Assets Promotion Program for Innovative Education and Research (6U-HAPPIER)
Messsage from the Coordinator
Member Schools related to the fields of engineering in Hokkaido
University, Tohoku University, Tokyo Institute of Technology, Nagoya
University, Osaka University, and Kyushu University established the
partnership for the human asset promotion in twofold.
One is an exchange program of personnel started in 2005. This program
is targeted at younger faculty members, who are expected to become
future leaders. Our other goals include knowledge sharing and a more
streamlined cooperation and co-evolution across the member
universities.
They are to spend three years in another university before returning
to work at their home university. The overall intention is to expand
and broaden research interests, to build human networks, and promote
exchange among different university cultures.
The other is joint human asset development initiatives named ACE
(Academic Career Enhancement) for the young faculty members. In 2022,
an exchange workshop program for assistant professors in 6U was held to discuss
on ideal education and research.
Through these two activities, we expect expansion of view and network
which contributes for further activation of education and research
activities of member universities.
