Outline of the Program:
Inbound exchange students join a professor’s laboratory and conduct a research under faculty supervision. They can also participate in special summer courses, such as High Tech Japan and Survival Japanese. In August, the annual Multi-Disciplinary International Student Workshop (MISW) is held, in which the students present their summer research results. Awards are given for the best oral and poster presentations at the workshop.

Status at Tokyo Tech:
International Exchange Student

School Affiliation:
The students must affiliate one of Engineering Schools (School of Engineering, School of Material Science and Engineering, and School of Environmental and Society)

Classes and Credits:
Class attendance is not mandatory for SERP students, but those who wish to take part in the courses listed below are recommended to register within the specified period (to be announced). SERP students cannot officially earn credits at Tokyo Tech. However, the Institute will issue academic transcripts to students at the end of each quarter so they can transfer credits to their own university.
