Exchange Programs

Tokyo Tech’s Engineering Schools promote a number of international student exchange programs, based on agreements with overseas partner institutions. In these programs, Tokyo Tech students attend partner institutions and conduct research at their laboratories while partner institution students are hosted at Tokyo Tech Engineering School laboratories.
These programs allow students to experience a new culture and educational system, expand their research scopes, and enhance the mutual understanding required of future global researchers.
- C1: Summer Exchange Research Program (SERP)
- C2-a: AOTULE Student Exchange Program (AOTULE)
- C2-b: Asia-Oceania Strategic Universities Exchange Program (AOSU)

The programs provide opportunities not only to conduct research under the supervision of Tokyo Tech faculty, but also to learn about Japanese culture as well as its technology through lectures, workshops, and site visits.
- HighTech Japan (one-time orientation and four company visits)
- Survival Japanese (basic Japanese language class for first-time-learners)
- Multidisciplinary International Student Workshop (MISW)
Exchange students are required to enroll in a partner institution and apply through their home program coordinator. Exchange students cannot officially earn credits at Tokyo Tech, but the Institute will issue academic transcripts at the end of each quarter as the credits can be transferred to their own institution.
